University of Toronto Weekend TEFL Course
University of Toronto offers a number of different courses for future teachers of EFL. The Weekend TEFL Course lasts one weekend and some time you will spend working online. It comprises 20 hours of in-class studying and practicing and 20 hours of Grammar Awareness Course, which you will take online and which will check and improve your grammar knowledge. The requirements to join the course include a minimum age of 18 years, native or close to native fluency in English, one free weekend for the course, and a strong wish to teach people English.
University of Toronto 100-hour Weekend TEFL Course
This course is an exhaustive study of both theoretical and practical fundamentals of the TEFL. It aims at increasing potential EFL teachers’ confidence and knowledge in different language fields and teaching situations. The course includes 20 hours of face-to-face training, which takes place in the classroom on one weekend, 40 hours of online training, 20 hours of extensive grammar online practice and 20 hours of special training (4 small 5-hour online courses):
- How to teach young children.
- How to teach business English.
- How to teach in large classes.
- How to teach with limited resources.
International House Toronto TESL Course
International House Toronto (IHT) is the biggest training organization for teachers in the world and is recognized by all the employers. It offers a Diploma Program for native speakers or for non-native speakers with proficiency level of English, which may be completed in two ways:
1) by taking a 4-week intensive course,
2) by taking a 15-week part-time course.
If one doesn’t have a college degree or his/her command of English is lower than proficiency, then there is a 8-week intensive TESOL Certificate Course available.
