Teaching English in Spain Details To participate in Teach English in Spain program you do not need certification. The only thing you need is 1 or 3 month of time. You are provided with accommodation and will have approximately 15 hours a week tutoring experience. Your responsibilities will include preparing lessons and improving family’s communicational skills. Time and place is being arranged with the host family. Your weekends will be free for going wherever you want, enjoy local culture, make new friends and work on your own language skills. Room and Board in Spain The most of families who recruit foreign teachers are living in or nor far from Madrid. The host family provides you with a separate room and they are to share all their meals with you. You will have keys from apartment and will be able to receive calls from home.
Teach English in Spain Eligibility All the applicants should:
1. Be between the ages of 18 and 35. 2. Be female (limited positions available for male applicants). 3. Have at least a high school diploma. 4. Preferably have some previous teaching or tutoring experience. 5. Be a native English speaker. 6. Be able to commit to a period of at least 3 months during the academic year (1-2 months possible during the summer).
You are not required to speak Spanish, but some knowledge of the language is helpful.
Teaching English in Spain Visa Requirements You should have a passport valid for 6 more months except your stay in the foreign country. U.S. and Canadian citizens are illegible to enter the country without a visa and to stay there up to 90 days. Longer stays are possible, but you will be required to enroll in a class in Spain and obtain a Student Visa before your departure from the U.S. This process can take more than 60 days. Insurance You should organize or get the accident and insurance for international travelers to cover the full length of your stay abroad by your own. Insurance will cover your costs in case of illness or accident, emergency medical evacuations, accidental death and dismemberment, and repatriation of remains. A lot of insurance companies offer big variety of insurance policies. 0on average it can be up to 700$ or more.
